Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia and Education Budget

Education is an imperative pillar of Vision 2030 and is one of the chief sectors on Saudi Arabia’s government budget; the country spends even more than most Arab countries. As per the Ministry of Finance, total public expenditure budget is SAR 1,106 billion in 2019; with education, military and healthcare making about 50 percent of total allocations, in this education system accounts for 17.5 percent of 2019 annual budget expenditure.

The KSA has adopted the National Plan for Information Technology to direct the effective assimilation of e-learning in public and private education institutions. One of the main objectives for the Ministry of Education (MoE) in the National Transformation Programme (NTP); the kingdom’s development plan to 2020, is the “shift to digital education in support of both teachers and students” in both primary school and colleges and is considered vital for its economic transformation.

However, without proper knowledge of the latest e-learning trends and developments, it can be challenging to reap these benefits.
